MAKE THE JOURNEY.

Even if it’s just a day away…

BRING ON THE ROAD TUNES!

Planes suck. Aside from all the anxiousness of too many germy people, I can never relax until boarded and settled in. I’ve always been more of a road trip, let’s get in the car so we can take the dogs and drive everywhere kinda gal. I love the snacks, I love the downtime, I love taking my pups and although my old lady back may say otherwise, I would take a roadtrip every weekend if I could afford it! Oregon certainly has some lovely, one of a kind experiences that I would highly recommend enjoying; from grilling your dinner outside at a cozy vintage trailer park, to soaking in a warm pool by the coast, a getaway is just a hop skip away, especially when there are promo codes involved:)

Here are some of my favorite places to stay, visit and travel to in the PNW! So far….and also all very dog friendly OBVI!

Getting ready to roast ‘mallows outside our cabin, “Majorie”.

Getaway

Portland edition! Getaway is the epitome of upscale glamping to me, and I honestly want to camp like this every time now because it was so lovely. Imagine waking up to deer outside your window in your own tiny home on a beautiful piece of land, there’s plenty of room for you and the dogs to snuggle, you don’t have to worry about anyone bugging you, and you can use the bathroom in a heated, clean room without having to hold your breath! Can you say, PERFECTION? The best thing about this place is they are all over the country, so whether you are in LA, or Seattle, or Portland, you can book your next Getaway and enjoy time comfortable outdoor time in your state. Sorry to say there is no WIFI or much service in these places, but we could all use some more quality time with the ones we love. Pack your s’mores, board games, favorite brewskis and get ready for some cozy times!

The Vintages

We just got back from The Vintages, located in the glorious Willamette Valley and this airstream glamping is such a fun treat ya’ll! Borrow some complimentary cruiser bikes to stroll around the hood, stop by the carneceria in town to grill up some meats and veggies outside, and enjoy some comp wine tastings near by thanks to the front desk. During the winter, the pool is closed but you are able to enjoy the firepits when weather permits, and I prefer the colder season with less bugs and ants. If you have pups, you only have the option of staying in this adorable Shasta trailer, but leave the kids at home and you can enjoy a tub in a higher end trailer with lots more space and “fancier” comforts. I enjoy the cuddles, and even with 2 pups and 2 humans, there was enough space for us all to relax. Tiny toilet city though, but you can use their larger bathrooms by the pool to do your business in total privacy if needed:) Can’t wait to go back and have a photoshoot with the pups already!

Outside of our trailer, listening to live music and enjoying some crispy vino!

Sou’wester

Tiny living is the talk of the town and Sou’wester has been doing it right for many, MANY years. Live music, a celebration of arts, sauna time, tea time, and a general store to purchase goods, they really have it all so you don’t even have to leave the grounds; Although I would recommend checking out all the lighthouses and beautiful landmarks that the Long Beach Peninsula has to offer! The WA coast is always quite magical, so you can explore everything so conveniently and come back to rest, or cook up a delicious meal in your trailer. I recommend pancakes for breakfast and pasta for dinner, but the world (on the coast) is your oyster so live large! There are also lodges, cabins, and larger units to book depending on your comfort level and they can even accommodate larger events and gatherings for your special occasion. We love you and your charm Sou’wester!

Cozy Cottage #1 at our favorite mini home away from home!

Adrift Hospitality

Adrift, adrift, adrift. I can not recommend anything better than Adrift Hospitality. They kept us sane during COVID, and make every getaway to the PNW coast just magical. With 2 doggos, we usual give up a little comfort to accommodate the fur babies, but when you stay at any Adrift location you have space for it all. Our favorite place to stay with the familia, is the Boardwalk Cottages. It’s always affordable, feels like it’s our own secluded tiny home for the weekend, and close to everything. You get pastry deliveries every morning from Dylan’s Cottage Bakery (best cinnamon buns EVER!) and it feels more private which we appreciate as early sleepers. The Main Adrift Hotel is less than a min drive away, so you can enjoy the lobby perks and heated pool. Some of their other locations include the new Bowline Hotel in Astoria, OR, the historic Shelburne Hotel, the Inn at Discovery which is so luxurious. Did I mention it is also WOMEN owed?! I love supporting this business, and it will forever be one of my favorite things about the PNW.

Lighthouses galore! Check out any and all lighthouses in the PNW; like seriously, you can plan a whole trip for this. There is something mystical and romantic about lighthouses, and I will always stop to admire them if we’re close by.

The Grotto. A peaceful gem located in NE Portland. I took my mom to outside mass here once, and it was actually quite serene. Take a walk upstairs and get the full experience.
